As conversations around sustainability continue to shape the future of fashion, sustainable swimwear is becoming more than a trend — it’s a responsibility. With fast fashion accelerating overconsumption, the swimwear industry is facing growing pressure to rethink not only how garments are made, but what happens after they’ve been worn.
At St. MACI, sustainability has always been part of our design philosophy. From premium recycled fabrics to timeless silhouettes, every decision is made with longevity in mind. Now, we’re taking our commitment one step further with the launch of our St. MACI Swimwear Recycling Program — designed to keep our garments out of landfill and within a circular fashion system.
Why Sustainable Swimwear Matters
The fashion industry produces over 100 billion garments each year, with more than 60% ending up in landfill or incinerated within 12 months. Swimwear is particularly vulnerable to this cycle due to synthetic fibres and trend-driven purchasing.
Choosing eco-friendly swimwear and supporting brands that invest in ethical swimwear practices helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and slow down unnecessary production. Sustainable swimwear isn’t just about what fabrics are used — it’s about accountability throughout the garment’s entire lifecycle.
Designed to Last, Made to Return
St. MACI swimwear is created using recycled swimwear fabrics, thoughtful construction, and small-batch production. Our designs prioritise durability, fit, and timeless appeal — encouraging mindful consumption over seasonal disposal.
But even the most considered garments eventually reach the end of their wearable life. That’s where our recycling program comes in.
To ensure pre-loved St. MACI swimwear never ends up in landfill, we’ve partnered with Textile Recyclers Group, an organisation dedicated to advancing circular solutions within the fashion industry.
How Our Swimwear Recycling Program Works
Our recycling initiative is exclusively for St. MACI swimwear, allowing us to responsibly process our own garments using approved methods.
Returned pieces are:
- Carefully sorted and processed
- Broken down into fibres and spun into recycled yarn
- Reimagined into new materials or future textile applications
By transforming waste into valuable resources, we’re actively supporting circular fashion in swimwear and reducing the environmental impact of synthetic textiles.
How to Recycle Your St. MACI Swimwear
Participating in our sustainable swimwear initiative is simple:
- Complete our recycling form to register your St. MACI swimwear return
- Receive a free return shipping label via email
- Send your pre-loved pieces back to us for recycling
- Receive 10% off your next St. MACI purchase as a thank-you
Please note: this program is available for St. MACI swimwear only. We’re unable to accept swimwear from other brands to ensure responsible processing.
A More Circular Future for Sustainable Swimwear
True sustainability doesn’t end at production — it requires responsibility, transparency, and long-term thinking. By choosing sustainable swimwear brands that invest in recycling and ethical practices, we collectively reduce waste and reshape the fashion industry’s impact on the planet.
At St. MACI, we believe sustainability is a shared journey — one that values craftsmanship, care, and conscious choices. Our recycling program is an invitation to be part of that future.
Because sustainable swimwear should never be disposable — it should evolve, transform, and continue its story.
